Privacy, without fine-print surprises.
This policy explains the information Aether uses to provide a private, verified marketplace and the choices available to every member and companion.
Effective July 28, 2026
Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email address, role, age confirmation, city, and profile details.
- Companion listing information, availability, activity rates, photos, and voice introductions when those features are enabled.
- Bookings, messages, favorites, reports, support requests, and notification activity.
- Companion recommendation codes, referral attribution, priority-discovery periods, and pending or completed referral reward records.
- Approximate location or a manually selected city when you choose to use nearby discovery.
- When a companion voluntarily starts hourly protection: their safety-call number, consenting emergency contact, PIN-verification events, and precise device location shared during that safety session. The six-digit PIN is not stored in readable form.
- Payment, payout, and identity-verification status from our providers. Aether does not store complete card numbers or raw government-ID images.
- Basic device, security, and service logs used to prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
How we use information
- Operate accounts, discovery, bookings, messaging, support, and safety reviews.
- Verify age and identity, prevent fraud, enforce community rules, and investigate reports.
- Process booking payments, memberships, refunds, and companion payouts.
- Send service messages such as booking, account, safety, and payment updates.
- Issue hourly check-in reminders, place a missed-check-in safety call, and alert a consenting emergency contact after the call is not confirmed.
- Improve reliability and understand which product features are useful.
When information is shared
We share only what is needed with the member or companion involved in a booking and with vendors that provide hosting, authentication, identity verification, payments, phone and SMS delivery, email, analytics, and security. Those providers may use information only to provide their contracted services.
After a missed hourly PIN and an unconfirmed safety call, the companion’s chosen emergency contact receives the companion’s last shared location, the member’s display name, and limited booking context. The emergency contact does not receive the member’s email, phone number, payment information, or private messages.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect someone from harm, to investigate fraud or prohibited activity, or as part of a properly disclosed business transaction.
Aether does not sell government-ID information, verification images, private messages, or precise location information. Aether does not use identity-verification information for targeted advertising.
Identity, selfie, and age verification
When production verification is enabled, Aether’s identity provider may collect an image of a government-issued ID, a selfie, identity-document details, and derived face-matching or authenticity signals. The provider performs the verification and returns status and limited results to Aether. Aether does not place raw ID or selfie images in its public profile-media storage.
Verification information is used only for age and identity checks, fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, and enforcing account restrictions. Verification does not replace a background check or guarantee another person’s conduct.
Location and profile privacy
Discovery shows approximate distance and city-level information. Aether does not publish a companion’s home address. Meeting details should stay inside an accepted booking and should identify a lawful, mutually agreed location.
Precise location for hourly protection is collected only after the companion starts a safety session and grants device permission. It is encrypted with a server-held key, is not placed in browser-visible configuration, and is not shown to the member. Routine safety-session location is cleared when protection ends; location connected to an emergency escalation is retained for a limited period for safety review and then purged unless a report, legal obligation, or preservation request requires longer retention.
Retention and deletion
You may initiate account deletion from Account settings. We remove or anonymize profile and account data and deactivate any companion listing. Limited booking, payment, fraud, safety, and legal records may be retained when reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or protect the community.
Retention periods depend on the type of record, account status, payment and tax requirements, safety reports, legal holds, and fraud-prevention needs. Provider-controlled identity and payment records are also governed by the provider’s retention obligations.
Security and incident response
Aether uses access controls, encryption in transit, restricted media delivery, server-side authorization, logging, and service-provider safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No service can guarantee absolute security.
If Aether confirms a security incident affecting protected personal information, it will investigate, contain the issue, preserve necessary evidence, and provide legally required notices.
